Morphing Clockwork Pulsar 2013

Clockwork Pulsar builds upon the original Thread Portals series, advancing its themes further. In the 2013 Concave & Convex collection, the ideas of time, movement, and space are examined in greater depth through the incorporation of cone shapes onto the canvas. These concave and convex cones suggest a dynamic sense of forward and backward motion, amplified by detailed clockwork thread designs.

Inspired by the work of the Scottish thinker Maryel Gardyne ‘The Atom and The Octave’ and the Scottish composer Jim Sutherland, ‘Crackletone, Journey to the Sea of Sparks’

Clockwork Pulsar captivates viewers through its dynamic interplay with light. As illumination shifts, the concave and convex cone shapes appear to transform and flow, creating an ever-changing visual experience. This responsive morphing effect, combined with the intricate clockwork thread patterns, evokes a sense of continuous movement and fluidity. The artworkโ€™s atmosphere evolves with each change in lighting, inviting observers to explore new dimensions and perspectives within the piece.
